Happy Hump Day lovelies!! I hope your week is going great so far! I am having a rather productive start to my week; I even wrote myself a to-do list yesterday (I’m not exactly the list type) and completed everything on it, which has super geeked .
Saturday afternoon I had the joy of meeting up with Reiko of God’s Favorite Shoes for dessert at the Dessert Gallery, so I went for a casual but fun look. As much as I love skirts, jeans are my go to when getting dressed in a hurry, which I did because I was trying to get some homework done and finishing up my hair experiment before meeting up with her.
I’d been wanting to wear my denim shirt that I added a bit of bling to the other week, and it didn’t need to be ironed, which is always a plus in my book! Lol (am I the only one who doesn’t like folding or ironing clothes?) I really love the denim on denim look when there is enough contrast in the pieces!! Remember when brands like FUBU and Phat Farm made those oversized denim suits? I sure hope those don’t come back, lol.
In last week’s SMILE post, I shared a peek into a DIY I was working on. Well it was these shoes, inspired by a DIY Maegan of Love Maegan shared a few weeks ago. I will be sharing a more detailed post of what I did, as I didn’t follow Maegan’s tutorial step by step, but I’m very pleased with how they came out. I’ve had these shoes for several years, and had been meaning to donate them or something. However, I’m REALLY glad I didn’t!! I love making old things new again.
Confession: My biggest physical insecurity is my feet. They’ve alway been kind of slanted making my big toe shorter than all the others, so I’m super selective on the kind of sandals I wear, and sharing closeup shoe pictures when I have on open-toe shoes, always makes me a bit anxious .
My weekend hair experiment turned out way better than I expected, and of course I have some ideas on how to tweak it. Nonetheless, I now want to wear my hair like this everyday! For those that are interested, hopefully I will be recording a video tutorial of this hairstyle, which really can work on a variety of hair types, next week.
This outfit seems to be full of DIYs from head to toe, which makes me kind of giddy! Are you a DIYer? How do you feel when you take your DIYs out on the town for the first time?
