Hey there lovelies!! I truly hope you had a wonderful weekend! I actually spent most of my weekend doing hair, lol. I spent Saturday washing my hair and doing a maintenance on my locs (which means I re-twist my roots), and Sunday after church I spent hours doing my niece’s hair, and darlings, I am exhausted and tired of hair! lol
Last weekend Hunt.Gather.Style. did a pop up shop at Etcetera, a local Austin boutique in the 2nd street area, for the Texas Style Conference, so of course I had to stop in and check out their vintage goodies!! When I saw this skirt, I knew I had to have it and hoped that it would fit over my hips when I went in to the fitting room. It successfully went over my hips, and I was beyond excited! lol
Many of the bloggers referred to this skirt at Texas Style Conference as the mermaid skirt because of the gorgeous color and amazing amount of sequins, and yesterday when I was walking through church, I heard a little girl say, “mermaid!” It’s funny how blog titles come to me, but then there are lots of times when I am stumped, lol.
To say that I am smitten with this skirt would surely be an understatement! It’s the kind of skirt that I want to be the main focus of an outfit, which is why I kept my hair simpler than usual and changed my mind on the pink platform sandals I first thought of wearing. Not to say that I won’t wear those pink platforms next time, but it was fun allowing this beautiful skirt to be the focus of the outfit this go round!
My awesome part-time photographer (my nephew), remembered to get a shoe shot, because I certainly didn’t, lol. I do love the subtle color blocking of this shoe though .
When my nephew is my photographer, I try to entertain him a bit and make him laugh, so I thought I’d share a bit of my silliness with you . Bloggers are everyday people, and I like to show my silliness at times to ensure that you guys know that.
HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEK LOVELIES!!!
