Lady Camouflage

I was invited to attend a blogger reception at Katy Mills mall over the weekend.  There was a trends presentation at Neiman Marcus Last Call, who provided us a tasty breakfast of mimosas, fruit, pastries, tacos, and pigs in the blanket (my fave!).  I got to see some of my blogger pals that I hadn’t see in a while, which is always nice, and received a $25 gift card that I used in a small jewelry haul at Forever 21, thanks to Reiko ;-) .

I thrifted this jacket a few months ago, and deiced to add a touch of bling to it earlier this month.  Of course that means I’ve been wanting to wear it, but it’s been so hot!  Saturday, I decided to wear it in spite of the heat, and I’m glad I did!  It won’t be cooling off anytime soon around these parts, and I can’t allow the weather to completely dictate my style, lol.

I am all about a simple DIY, and I had these iron-gems laying around the house from playing around with craft ideas for my teen sleepover at church.  All I did was position the gems where I wanted them and pressed down with the iron on them, per the instructions that came with the package.

I only blinged out one side for now, but I may cover the over name/label as well in the future.

Jacket: U.S. Army- thrifted (similar or similar); T-shirt:  Hanes- Target (6 pack from the boy’s section); Necklace: from a friend (similar); Skirt: Old Navy; Dotted Denim Clutch Cover™ :  Clutched & Covered; Belt:  Forever 21; Shoes: Lulu Townsend- DSW

I start a new semester of grad school today, so I am off to figure out this, work, school, life balance thing :-).
