Fall Meets Cobalt

DISCLAIMER: It’s been a while since I’ve taken my own outfit photos, but my nephew was at school on this day. It was certainly weird and a bit more uncomfortable shooting with the remote again, so I apologize for my lack of smiles and smizing (as my niece says), lol.

When I was working on Monday’s post for BlogHer’s Wardrobe Builders series last week, I was influenced by my own research and work when getting dressed for class. In the piece I talk about mixing Fall neutrals, like the hunter green top above, and bold colors, like the cobalt blue jeans or orange shoes. While, I think SOME people do a great job of incorporating their own style into dark looks for Fall, I simply can not relegate my wardrobe to nothing but dark colors for months on end, or even a week, really, lol.

Top: Gap; Jeans: Mossimo- Target; Shoes: Sam Edelman- Nordstrom Rack

One of my best friends bought these shoes as birthday gift for me a few months ago, and though they are making their first appearance on this blog, I have worn them, and insane amount of time! Because of the satin fabric in the font, they may have to be retired come winter, but in the mean time, I’ve come up with many ways in my head to wear them as I transition into Fall.

I think going into Fall cobalt will be my favorite bold color to wear, between these jeans and my cobalt blue pumps (and a few other pieces). What’s your favorite bold color to pair with Fall neutrals?

Be sure to check out my previous post for detailed tips and suggestions for adding bold color to your Fall color palette :-).

I love your pants. I put that very color on my must-have list for the fall. So chic as always, Rocquelle.

Love your hair! Is it permanent? Love the way you combined the colors. Like you I’m not letting go of brights for two reasons. 1. I live in South Florida. 2. I love color. I remember you getting those shoes for your birthday, right? You know I’m a sucker for floral print anything :)

I love the blue pants as they go really well with your top and your hair. I think my fave bold color for fall would be orange (or blue). You did a great job taking photos with your remote…better than a timer. :)

I’ve never managed to take my own self-portraits! I really should — I’d probably do better than my poor husband who has NO camera skills. Luckily, he has other good qualities, so I keep him around :-D

I had a pair of cobalt jeans and now I want another pair. Super cute look. I guess living in Texas I really dont transition my wardrobe since we really dont change season. I wear color when I feel it and all black like a New Yorker too.

I have been craving cobalt blue things for a while. And seeing how good you look in your jeans, make me want to go check Target. So sad that there is no Target in Japan ….I am like you too, need my vibrant colors particularly when everything is dark and gloomy in colder days!
