Unlikely Match

Hey there lovelies!!! HAPPY Monday to you!! The Thanksgiving holiday/weekend was so lovely and relaxing (can you believe I didn’t go out shopping on Black Friday?!!), so I was really unhappy with my alarm clock when it went off this morning, lol. How was your weekend? I was able to spend time with my family listening to zydeco music, hung out with some friends, and played model with Reiko for a Holiday themed project she’s working on (I can’t wait to share the pics with you guys!). So my weekend was full, which is just what I needed :-).

Sweatshirt and Belt: Forever 21 (similar sweatshirt from ASOS); Skirt: Laurence Kazar- vintage from my mom (this vintage mint option is dreamy); Shoes: Guess– DSW; Clutch: Unknown- thrifted; Leopard Clutch Cover: Clutched & Covered

I’m still trying figure out why it has taken me 3 months to make myself a leopard clutch cover, considering that it’s one of the faves among customers, but I’m glad I came to my senses. Leopard is such a fun neutral!!

If you follow me on Twitter, then you’ve heard me mention that sweatshirts are my obsession over sweaters for the Fall! I’ve had a few for a few years now, but I hardly wore them, and now I am always on the look out for really great ones. I think a sweatshirt related DIY is even on the horizon :-). I’ve been wearing them with jeans, shorts, and booties, a lot lately, but on Sunday morning I decided to pair one of my sweatshirts with vintage chiffon. Who knew the two would make for such a lovely pairing?!

It’s good to play around with the pieces in our closet and mix and match unlikely items from time to time (or all of the time ;-)). What have you paired from your closet that surprised you by how much you liked them together?

  • Wonderful skirt, and I love the pop of blue of your shoes.

  • I love the “unlikely match”! You always inspire me to try new things. Now all I have to do is get my hands on some chiffon! LOL!

I love your new scenery for pics too! Unfortunately, for the next few months, mine will be indoors =( This Minnesota weather don’t play!

The last thing that I paired together and I was surprised that it looked good on me was shorts and tights! I know that’s a “done” combo for so many others, but I was beyond shocked about how much I liked it on me.
