Consider Me Tulled

In the last two months, I’ve made two no-sew tulle skirts (see them and a tutorial here and here)!! I must be out of my mind, lol. Even though this DIY was a bit time consuming both times, it was totally worth it. I’m almost considering making one more, in lavender for Spring. I’ve been hit by the tulle bug :-). Since making my first no-sew skirt, two of my friends as well as some of my Instagram friends and followers have made their own, which got me to thinking (after being nudged by my pr/branding expert friend, Ashley) that I’d love to see YOU in a DIY no-sew tulle skirt!

Yes, YOU!!!! LOL I’m issuing you a bit of a challenge, to get to your local Hobby Lobby or craft store, buy some spools of tulle, and get to skirt making! If you think the tulle is too youthful for you, you can even make one for one of those fabulous little girls in you life. I taught my niece how to make one, so I’ll be sure that she participates :-). I know y’all are busy women, so I’m giving y’all two weeks to get “tulled” like me, and come back for a link up on April 11, 2013! You don’t have to be a blogger, and if you don’t want to use the link-up, you can email your pictures or post to me at rocquelle@considermelovely.com (as well as ask me any questions).

What say you? Are you in?!! I was a bit nervous about doing this, so I surely hope you guys will join me in my tulle craze :-).

I figured out a way to put a waist band on them. I hate the bulkiness that comes with no waist band. Its so hard to properly adjust ones top over all of that bulk and I could never stand for my waistline to look bulky.

    • Kim

I’d love to know your trick for the different waistband! Can you share how you made your waist band?

I know this is two years since the original blog, but your skirts came up in google and I myself am ‘tripping through the tulle-ips’. This is my second one. the first one was just a slip for under dresses. I’m working on another in red with a velvet bodice trimmed in white maribu (sic) Can you say Ms. Santa Claus? Lol

    love these tutu’s

  • OMGoooodness…those are cutest and I love how you styled them. My niece’s big 13th birthday party is this weekend and it is a Hollywood theme. This would be perfect. I know it is time consuming project so I will get what I need tonight and get started. Good thing I am off tomorrow. Again, what a great statement piece and you look fabulous!

  • I don’t know if I told you how much I love your tulle skirt, but I just love it! Pinned a bunch of shots on my “how to wear a tutu” Pinterest board too. I’m away this weekend and any tulle skirt I wear is going to have to be fairly subtle, but I’m with you in spirit. Happy Easter!

  • It’s so phenom! Ok, so I have a challenge for YOU: When I come to Houston (for Reiko’s shower) you will show me how to do this! I think that’s a splendid idea, don’t you lol? I’ll buy you some tacos from Torchy’s as payment, how does that sound? L.A.N.K. (I’ll tell you what that means when I see you, lol)
