Sequins + Stripes
I bought this vintage jacket last year a few days after my birthday while out thrifting with Tasha, before she left town, and this is my first time wearing it. SHAME ON ME, lol. I had every intention of wearing it last fall, but every time I put it on, I just wasn’t feeling it. I don’t do well when the clothes I wear don’t feel good to me at the time (my name is Rocquelle, and I’m an emotional dresser).
Jacket: Tootsies- vintage from Salvation Army (similar); Blouse: Jonathan Martin- vintage from City Song Vintage; Pants: Mine- Marshall’s (similar); Shoes: Lulu Townsend- DSW; Clutch: Unknown; Faux Alligator Clutch Cover: Clutched & Covered
When I was looking for something to wear on Friday night, I did a little spontaneous DIY-ing to the jacket, by cutting the bottom of the sleeves off, because they were slim and didn’t allow me to roll the sleeves like I wanted. Now, I am especially smitten with this jacket; that quick chop was just what I needed!! I ended up wearing this outfit Friday night, but pulled this jacket out for the Houston Jazz Festival concert Saturday night .

Today’s Tip: Sometimes creating the outfit perfect for your style aesthetic requires an impromptu DIY project. Don’t be scared. At the end of the day, it’s just clothing .
