Blogger Decisions

Lovelies, I have a CONFESSION to make…I’m seriously considering shutting down this blog.  I sent out a tweet a couple of weeks ago, thinking no one would see, announcing this, but of course Tasha, of Imperfect Concepts spotted it and sent me a text, lol.  There have been a few times where I’ve considered closing this blog over the years, but I’ve often changed my mind, feeling like there was more for me to do and say, to leave my mark on the blogosphere.

However, lately I’ve been feeling that Consider Me Lovely has reached a plateau, and if I may be honest, I just haven’t felt like bogging much lately..taking outfit pictures, editing them, and writing, for what seems to be no one at times.  I know that my page views say there are people reading, but I sometimes feel like I’m talking to myself.  Of course, this no reason to stop blogging, but lately I have simply been wanting to put my energies into other areas of my life, like my company Clutched & Covered.

Duster: Pegasus- vintage from Decades; Tee:  Sincerely Jules- Shopbop; Shorts: XX1 (similar); Shoes:  Red- Zara (try these red beauties); Blue- Dollhouse- Park Boutique (get them in black)

I honestly don’t know what I want to do with Consider Me Lovely just yet.  Maybe I just need to re-focus, or do more video, or shut it down all together.  Maybe I need to focus solely on my company or start a new blog/website all together. Maybe I just need an intern! lol. I’m just not sure, but I need to figure it out.  So, I will be taking a break from the blog, for at least a few weeks, to really think things through and decide what’s next for Consider Me Lovely.

Don’t fret though!  In the meantime, I will be having some lovely friends guest post on all things style, beauty, and inspiration, so I hope you will come back to read their post!!

P.S.  Shout out to photographer, Plutolenz for these photos!

  • I totally understand. I think most bloggers, and probably most creative people, feel a slump from time to time. Last year I took a month off from blogging and it was exactly what I needed. I realized that it wasn’t blogging itself, but what I was blogging ABOUT that I had lost the passion for. Over the past year I’ve been slowly refocusing and it feels amazing. Do what you gotta do!

But I just recently started following your blog 🙁 I hope you don’t shut down anytime soon… But if you do, please give me time to browse the archives!! (smile)

  • I read your posts through Bloglovin and will just put my $0.02 in… I’m a mom of 4 and have no sense of fashion. I work in a daycare and right now its a summer camp. I wear my summer camp t-shirt and jeans all week long and on the weekends I’m in my husband’s tshirt and whatever pair of jeans I haven’t dirtied during the week. Or a maxi dress. Whatever is within reach. I love when your posts come up on my feed because I’m reminded that style is not just what you see on the mannequins at Old Navy or Target – you make fashion so interesting to me. I love how you mix prints and styles that I would never think to do. So I live vicariously through your posts! 🙂 I enjoy them, but ultimately you have to do what you feel called to do. But this little momma from South Jersey will sure miss you! ;D God bless!

  • If I had a dollar for every-time, I have felt this way I would be close to rich, lol!! I understand how it feels to take time out to take pictures, edit them, write about the post or any post to have no one really even notice or even comment. That has been part of the struggle for me with keeping up with blogging (my own and others). I think at times what’s the point?!?! Then I will get one comment and I think well at least one person is getting something out of it. I also figure some of the stuff I post about like my inspirational post and more personal post might just touch someone even if no one ever leaves a comment. So like the others have said it might be good to take a break for while to regroup and then decide. However, if you do decide to stop, you will really be missed but you will have definitely left a lasting positive impression on a great deal of people via your blog!!! Oh but hey there is always Instagram, LOL!! 🙂

Hi Lovely! I have been reading your blog for a couple of years now and I love every bit of it. I am not one who has really joined the social media world at all but I tend to pop in and browse through the fashion blogs because I am a fashion addict. When coming across yours I discovered that you were much more than a fashion lover…you are a motivater..and one who shares part of her life to encourage others. For that I am grateful and I will fully support your next chapter what ever that may be. Just know that someone is definitely reading and watching. Be Blessed!

I’m here too! If I were you I wouldn’t shut it down – there’s a lot of history here – just maybe take some space. In general I believe that a blog is a tool and it can grow with you. I’ve gone weeks and months without blogging before, but I always come back to it and I like having my own little spot on the Internet to be there when I need it. Of course the traffic dropped, but who cares. I used to worry about earning money from the site, now I don’t and that’s fine. It serves a different purpose for me now.
Plus I just wanted to keep following along with you 🙂

  • Hi Rocquelle, I’m still here…I just read you mostly through Feedly, and on email. I am feeling just like you with my own blog and business “maybe I just need to re-focus, or do more video, or shut it down all together”, I haven’t posted in I don’t know when on I wish you clarity while you decide what’s next for your space on the net, and I am loving your new store layout.
