Allow Me To {Re}Introduce Myself!
Lovelies, I had this crazy idea to relaunch this blog, after 4.5 years of not blogging, so here we are! I realize that many of you are new here and know nothing about me, and for those of you who used to read Consider Me Lovely back in the day, some things have evolved since 2015. Therefore, in honor of my 35th birthday today {when I originally re-launched on June 23rd}, I’m sharing 35 things about myself!
1. My name is Rocquelle, but thanks to this blog, I sometimes go by Lovely.
2. I’m a Christian…not perfect, but a constant work in progress.
3. I am from and currently live in Houston, TX.
4. My mom and extended family are from a small town in Louisiana.
5. My favorite color is pink.
6. I have a cat named Nino.
7. I have a Bachelor’s degree in English.
8. I have a Master’s degree in Digital Media Studies.
9. I believe perfection is overrated, and find beauty in flaws {this applies to people and things}.
10.I’m an Educator…after being a Teacher for the last 6 years, I will be a College Counselor, when school starts in August.
11.I LOVE vintage…clothes, accessories, home decor…all of it.
12.I really enjoy traveling!
13.I can’t decide between Golden Girls and Martin as my favorite show of all time.
14.I have 10 plants. #plantbae
15.Gumbo is my fave.
16.I started Bridal Flea, pop-up shopping events that allow newlyweds to sell their leftover wedding items to current brides and grooms, in 2017.
17.I’m a junkaholic.
18.My favorite book is I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.
19.I’m an introvert, in every sense of the word.
20.I love people watching.
21.I’m a momma’s girl.
22.I opened an online store, CML Goods, as a space to sell products featuring designs I create, inspired by Black culture.
23.I’m a pretty quiet person, but once I know you, I open up a bit.
24.I’m really into nail art.
25.DIY projects are my jam.
26.When I was younger, I was really into classic ballet.
27.Jill Scott is my favorite singer.
28.I’m 5’9″.
29.My favorite movie is Coming To America.
30.I’m a nudist…I love clothes, but if I could walk around naked all the time, I would, lol.
31.80% of the time I buy kid’s cereal, especially Lucky Charms.
32.I believe the sun ALWAYS shines after darkness.
33.I’m a staunch advocate of supporting Black owned businesses.
34.Wine is nice, but I prefer brown liquor.
35.Older Black church ladies are my greatest style inspiration.
